Reeves Construction State Route 17 Widening in Thomson GA

Summer of 2015, Reeves Construction was awarded two road widening contracts totaling 75 million dollars for the Georgia Department of Transportation in Thomson, GA. The projects are joined end to end and total approximately 17 miles of converting a two lane route into a four lane divided highway. Construction began in March 2016 and the overall project completion date is September 2019. The work includes the following scope: approximately 1.6 million cubic yards of unclassified cuts and borrow, construction of 6 bridges, placement of 400,000 tons of graded aggregate base course, 300,000 tons of asphalt and 25,000 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe ranging from 18”-60” in diameter.
