Charlotte, NC – March, 2012 – Duncan, SC-based Sloan Construction Company has received the prestigious 2011 “Best General Contractor” Pinnacle Award from Carolinas AGC. The annual Carolinas AGC Pinnacle Awards are given for outstanding achievement in the commercial construction industry; member firms can be honored for their performance as a company, or for a specific project.

Founded in 1933, Sloan Construction is a $100 million heavy-highway contractor with projects ranging from excavation and site work to underground utilities, asphalt paving and bridge construction.

Engineers’ comments regarding Sloan included: “Sloan is a go-to for unique, tough jobs…” and “Versatile…innovative…and willing to work all kinds of crazy hours to get the job done.”

Sloan is a key player in the area’s most challenging large-scale, fast-track highway and commercial projects. The firm, which also has several asphalt manufacturing facilities in South Carolina, focuses on good corporate citizenship and being a good neighbor—both vital due to new population patterns that place formerly rural asphalt plants into the midst of new communities.
