Macon-Based Reeves Construction Company Wins National Award For Quality In Construction Of Asphalt Paving Project

Project at Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Field earns national recognition

(MACON) Reeves Construction Company, with headquarters in Macon, is the recipient of the prestigious 2011 Quality in Construction Award for “Excellence in Construction,” awarded by the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA). The award was in recognition of work performed at Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Field, and was presented to Reeves company officials during NAPA’s annual meeting in Palm Desert, Calif., in January.

“Reeves is very honored to receive the NAPA award, as it is a testament to our commitment to quality in every project we complete,” said Dan Garcia, Vice President of Reeves Construction Company. “To be honored from among projects across the country is truly rewarding to everyone at Reeves.”

The Quality in Construction Award recognizes asphalt pavement projects which exemplify excellence, according to a statement from NAPA.

“NAPA selects the recipients of its paving awards using a known set of standards that have been shown to provide a good result,” said Kim Snyder, 2011 Chairman of the NAPA Board of Directors. “This award demonstrates the high quality of work that Reeves Construction is performing.”

Reeves work at Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Field included infrastructure improvements on the golf and exercise paths at Taylor Creek Golf Course. The project presented unique challenges to Reeves to complete the multiple tasks in a manner that did not disrupt the operations of the facility.
