Georgia’s Workforce Development Alliance hosted their inaugural Skills Challenge and Career Fair on Friday, November 6, 2015. They are working hard to grow the event that welcomed over 300 students from area high school construction programs. Over 70
students who were studying and training to represent their school in their chosen trade at the statewide Skills USA competition were offered a chance to test their skills against students in their region at this mock challenge.
Reeves Construction Company participated in hands-on training and demonstrations of all types of construction with Reeves Corporate Training Specialist, Charlie Stewart and Sales Manager, Eddie Wright. Reeves Construction had their simulator on site and the students simulated the operation of an excavator. Randy England, HR Director, and Erskine Burkett, HR Generalist for Reeves Construction were also onsite to talk with students one on one about job opportunities within the company. One student, Rod Robinson from Washington County High school, said this was his second year visiting the event and he plans on working for Reeves Construction when he graduates!
