Concrete paving and rehabilitation is Southeast Pavement Services area of expertise. This project in Florence, S.C., consisted of paving 1,000 foot sections of concrete on Highway 52 in three locations (at signaled intersections of I-95 and Cashua Street). Asphalt pavement was milled out in 8” to 10” thickness and replaced with high early strength concrete. This type of concrete is designed to carry a heavier traffic load for longer periods of time without maintenance. The lanes were closed in the evenings and were reopened each morning so as not to impede the flow of heavy rush hour traffic and the SPS crews worked diligently each night to ensure this requirement was met.
