On Thursday November 6 and 8, 2014, Eagle Scouts, Greg Hamilton, Estimator, and Tony Yawn, Project Engineer, both of Reeves Construction, held a class for the Webelos Pack 2 based out of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Evans, GA. Reeves, along with our Eagle Scouts, wanted to help the boys earn their Engineer Activity Badge. On the first day, the scouts arrived at our Augusta office where they were treated lunch and a presentation on the different types of engineering degrees available and what education was needed to earn the degree. After the presentation, each scout constructed a simple working electrical circuit using a flashlight battery, a switch, and a light from kits donated by Reeves. The day ended with a question and answer session and a homework assignment to draw the floor plan of their house.
On the second day, the scouts toured the Williams Few project in Evans, GA. The boys studied the job’s blueprints and did some simple measurements with surveying equipment.
Reeves and our Eagle Scouts were honored to share this experience with the Webelos.
